Plea of not guilty entered in jewelry theft

LOCKPORT—A Youngstown man accused of stealing jewelry from a Lewiston woman’s home April 5 pleaded not guilty Monday in Niagara County Court.
Charles R. Putnam, 23, of East Avenue, denied charges of third-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Assistant District Attorney Charles F. Pitarresi said Putnam was doing some painting in the victim’s home when the theft allegedly occurred.
In another arraignment Monday, Douglas A. Rowles, 54, of Fairmont, Ga., pleaded not guilty to felony driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. He was arrested July 10 in Somerset.
