Man gets prison terms for burglaries in 3 towns

LITTLE VALLEY—A 26-year-old Kennedy man who committed a series of burglaries in three towns was sentenced Monday in Cattaraugus County Court to spend up to six years in prison.
Louis S. Mosher Jr. was sentenced by Judge Larry M. Himelein to two consecutive terms of one to three years and two concurrent one-year terms for his convictions on two counts each of third-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny.
District Attorney Edward M. Sharkey said Mosher burglarized several sheds, barns and garages and damaged and stole others’ property between June 7 and Oct. 23, 2008, in the towns of Randolph, Napoli and Little Valley.
In another sentencing, Michael A. Sylvia, 22, of Buffalo, presently in the Lexington Federal Medical Center, was sentenced to two concurrent one-to three-year terms in prison for his convictions of two counts of third-degree burglary of several buildings Aug. 26, 2008, in the Town of Machias.
Joshua S. Harting, 20, of Little Valley, was sentenced to five years’ probation and restitution for his convictions of fourth-degree grand larceny April 24 and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property April 30. Both charges involved a stolen credit card in the Village of Little Valley.
