Gun charge, robbery result in jail for 2 Falls men

LOCKPORT—Two Niagara Falls men were sentenced to a year in Niagara County Jail in separate cases before Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza on Wednesday.
Lawrence E. Smith, 20, of Dudley Avenue, had pleaded guilty to fourthdegree criminal possession of a weapon for having a .32-caliber revolver when Niagara Falls police picked him up Sept. 5, 2008.
Nathan Jones, 23, of Niagara Street, was sentenced for violating the terms of his probation on a conviction for attempted third-degree robbery. Jones was one of two men who stole clothing and a video camera from a pedestrian on Niagara Street on Oct. 24, 2006.
