DUNKIRK—The City Council is aiming to adopt the 2010 budget in December after continuing its budget reviews until the end of this month.
Among the issues announced at Tuesday’s meeting was an increase in water and sewer rates, which will be determined by Dec. 1. The rates will be the topic of a public hearing in December.
City residents are reminded that information sessions on the new water meter replacement plan will be held at 2 and 7 p. m. today in the conference room. The presentations will cover the need for the work, the potential savings and the timeline for replacement of residential and commercial water meters.
The Council also approved a $500 donation to the Dunkirk Middle School Steel Drum Band toward its May trip to New York City.
