LEGISLATOR OPEN HOUSE: Legislator Barbara Miller- Williams is hosting the annual open house celebration for her Third District office from noon to 4 p. m. today at 427 William St. in the Towne Gardens Plaza, corner of Jefferson Avenue. The community is invited to share their concerns and ideas and learn what is happening in Erie County government. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 842-0491.

KIDNEY FOUNDATION CEREMONY: The National Kidney Foundation Serving Western New York will host its annual “Give Life, Give Thanks Holiday Tree Decorating Ceremony” for dialysis patients, organ donors and transplant recipients at 6 p. m. Wednesday in Erie County

Medical Center, 462 Grider St. The event is free and includes speakers, refreshments, music and tree decorating. For more information, call 835-1323.

KELSAY SPEECH: Buffalo Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay will speak on “What It Takes to Become a Professional Athlete” at 7 p. m. Thursday in the auditorium of Akron Central High School, 47 Bloomingdale Ave. The event, part of the district’s Athletic Speaker Series, is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided by the Akron Athletic Booster Club.
