Are officials listening to their constituents?
Story tools:
Both my husband and I recently sent e-mails to Sen. Charles Schumer and Congressman Brian Higgins expressing our concerns about the proposed health care bill and what it might mean for senior citizens on Medicare. We stated in very plain English that we are not in favor of this bill.
I received a response from Higgins thanking me for “expressing my support of Medical Imaging,” and also thanking me for my support in “renewing America’s promise to achieve quality, affordable health care for all.” My husband received a response from Schumer thanking him for his comments regarding the natural gas bill now before the Senate.
Hello! Is anybody out there listening to us? Evidently not.
