Hamburg Village Board members agreed informally Monday evening to buy a gravel lot at Main and Buffalo streets from the state for $1.
The lot at the most prominent intersection in the village was acquired by the state when the Department of Transportation used part of it to build a roundabout.
The village could use the lot for parking, or a park, or for some other public purpose. If the village wanted to sell it to promote economic development, the price set by the state would be much higher than $1, village officials said.
