Q: Is the woman who plays the police captain on “Psych”— I think her name is Kristine Nelson—related to the late Rick Nelson?— Terre Kappel, Thornton, Colo.

A: She’s Kirsten Nelson, and she’s no relation to the late singer- actor. You might be thinking of Kristin Nelson; she was married to Rick from 1963 to 1982, and she had four children with him, including actress Tracy and twin singers Matthew and Gunnar. She’s also the sister of “NCIS” star Mark Harmon.

Q: What happened to the NBC series “The Philanthropist”?— Jeanne Ferguson, Oklahoma City

A: The drama that starred James Purefoy, Jesse L. Martin and Neve Campbell was intended only as a summer replacement series—unless the ratings set the network on fire. They didn’t, so it has run its course.

Q: Is “Knight Rider” going to have another season, and will it be on DVD?— Rustin Evers, San Antonio

A: Assuming you mean the Justin Bruening-starring revival that NBC aired last season, no, it won’t be back. That one existing year of the adventure show already has been released in a DVD set by Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Q: I’m trying to find a DVD of a George Peppard movie called “Crisis in Mid-Air.”— Terry Cronin, Seattle

A: Made for television in 1979, the drama with Peppard as an air traffic controller under considerable pressure has not been released commercially on disc as of yet.
