Delaware North Cos. should run Aqueduct

How can Gov. Paterson consider any other team than Aqueduct Gaming, led by Buffalo’s Delaware North Companies (DNC), to run operations at the Aqueduct racetrack in Queens?
Aqueduct Gaming is a partnership of New York companies.
Led by Delaware North, the team includes Saratoga Gaming and Raceway, McKissack&McKissack, Shawmut, and Thalden Emery. Each of these firms has a strong commitment to our state—to ensuring that the benefits of this project, especially in jobs, accrue to New Yorkers.
Other bidders are composed of investors from out of state and out of the country and lack the same level of commitment. None of the other bidders would do anything for Buffalo Niagara, while selecting Aqueduct Gaming would mean 100 new jobs in Buffalo, as well as thousands in Queens.
Another test of whether New York’s elected “leaders” will support the state’s businesses.
