PITTSFORD -- Terrell Owens will be held out of Saturday's preseason game in Green Bay, Bills coach Dick Jauron said today.
Owens did not practice in the final camp workout Wednesday and was not on the field.
"We probably won't put him on the field again until next week some time," Jauron said, before definitively ruling Owens out for Saturday.
Owens missed all of last week's work due to the sprained toe he suffered in the preseason game vs. Tennessee in Canton, Ohio, on Aug. 9. He practiced on a limited basis on Monday night, working in individual drills, but then he stayed out of team drills, as was the plan of the Bills' medical staff.
Jauron said testing out the injury was part of the normal procedure with this type of injury.
"Two days ago we took that step that we normally take," Jauron said. "We're just following the protocol that we use for that injury, and then we assessed it."
