GENESEO—World War II Navy aircraft will be featured Saturday and Sunday at the annual Geneseo Air Show sponsored by the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group at Geneseo Airport off Route 63 west of the Geneseo State College campus.
Planes start arriving today, and gates open at 6 a. m. all weekend. Flying performances will be held from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. Saturday and Sunday. In addition to Navy planes such as the Hellcat, TBM, Helldiver, Corsair and the rare PBY, there will be Canadian Harvards and World War I fighters from the Great War Flying Museum in Guelph, Ont., as well as a variety of other antique aircraft.
From 7 to 11 p. m. Saturday, a Memories USO show will recall the USO shows that entertained troops during World War II.
Held inside the airport’s big hangar, it will feature jazz singer Nancy Kelly and the Rick Holland Little Big Band. For information, call (585) 243-2100 or visit www.1941hag.org .
