POSTPONEMENT: Today’s s Lackawanna City Council work session with the state Department of Environmental Conservation on a strategy to alleviate flood zones in the city has been postponed. Second Ward Councilman Geoffrey Szymanski said a new meeting date has yet to be decided.
CIVIL WAR RE-ENACTMENT: Marilla’s sixth annual Civil War re-enactment will be held Saturday and Sunday in Marilla Town Park on Three Rod Road. Both days will include battles, a Victorian dance, ladies tea and a living history event. There will be a church service Sunday morning. The event is free, and food will be available.
HIKE OR PADDLE: Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper will offer a 3- hour guided kayak (rentals available) tour of the Scajaquada Creek at 8 a. m. Saturday, starting at Broderick Park, 1170 Niagara St. Cost is $15. Or, at 2 p. m. a three-hour guided hike of the creek will meet at the end of Peter Street. Cost is $10. Both tours will detail the ecosystem of the creek. For details, call 852-7483.
FLEA MARKET: Corpus Christi Parish will hold its third annual Super Flea Market from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. Saturday in the church parking lot, 199 Clark St. It will include baked goods, and all proceeds go toward a new church roof. For details, call 896-1050.
TENNIS TOURNAMENT: The Lancaster Recreation Department will host the first Love Pink Tennis Tournament at 10 a. m. Sunday at Lancaster High School, 1 Forton Drive. Cost is $20. Proceeds benefit breast cancer research and awareness. Players will be assigned a number upon arrival and will be paired with a different partner for each round.
