Plane rides, model air show slated at airport July 16

ISCHUA—The KOLE Airport Support Group of the Cattaraugus CountyLOlean Municipal Airport will host the annual Open House and the Southern Tier Aero Radio Society’s 32nd annual Scale Model Air Show from 7 a. m. until dark July 16 at the airport, 5420 Hatch Hill Road.
A fly-in, drive-in breakfast from 7 to 10 a. m., airplane rides and historic aircraft from the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group, are some of the day’s highlights. Civil Air Patrol and Air Force Auxiliary recruiters will be on hand to show off their aircraft, while visitors may register for flight training with instructors from Olean-Cattaraugus Aviation and meet the Free Fall Oz Skydiving Center guides. Hawk Hideaway Raptor Rehabilitation Center will display live birds.
A chicken barbecue will run from 4 to 7 p. m.
During the show, aircraft arrivals and departures will be permitted only from 6 to 10 a. m., noon to 1 p. m. and after 5 p. m. To make an appointment for a special arrival or departure time, pilots may call 557-8800.
