The Wales Town Board has approved its first flag-lot development under its updated code governing development of odd-shaped lots.
Robert Booth applied for a three-acre parcel at 11418 Warner Hill Road in South Wales, where his children hope to build a home. The new code calls for a minimum lot size of three acres.
The proposal also won approval on a number of regulatory fronts, including a negative environmental impact, Wales officials noted during a Town Board meeting Tuesday night.
In another matter, grant writer Connie Minor has been given the go-ahead to hold an informational hearing on an income survey for Water District 2. The hearing will be held at 7 p. m. June 30 in the Wales Center Fire Hall, Route 20A.
The survey is the first step in what the Town Board views as an opportunity to bring water service to the district. Stimulus money may be available.
