Man held in attack on pregnant woman

A Lancaster man was arrested early Tuesday for allegedly attacking a pregnant woman in front of her two small children, South District police said.
Michael L. Jachimiak, 31, of Field Avenue, was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief in the attack, at about 4:40 a. m. in a home on Orlando Street, police said. He allegedly tried to choke the woman and hit her in the face and back.
