Fidelis Care, the statewide Catholic health plan, said it has received approval from the state Department of Health and Genesee County to start serving residents of the Western New York county through Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus and Medicaid Managed Care.
According to the state health department, more than 5,500 Genesee County residents, including 900 children under age 19, lack health insurance.
“Fidelis Care looks forward to serving residents of Genesee County with quality, affordable health coverage,” Fidelis president and CEO Mark L. Lane said in a press release. “It is our goal to make a difference in people’s lives and to provide them with convenient access to the quality care and services they need and deserve.”
Fidelis is the largest health plan offering government-sponsored health programs in the state, serving more than 480,000 members in 46 counties.
