Edith C. Johnson, a legal secretary and owner of EGO Studios, which has worked for more than 40 years to guide and empower young Buffalo women, died Wednesday in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a brief illness. She was 78.

George M. Weed, former chief custodian for Buffalo schools

George Morton "Mort" Weed, of Snyder, a chief engineer-custodian for the Buffalo schools who became the unofficial archivist for Buffalo school history, died Saturday in ElderWood Health Care at Oakwood, Amherst. He was 82.
