Design Notes
Design tip:
Don’t be afraid to mix up your place settings when entertaining. Plates and other dishes don’t have to match. Instead, pick a unifying element in your table decor, such as a color, theme or texture, and have fun with it. Matched place settings instantly create a formal mood, but mixing up place settings can be perfect for a hip get-together, and is creative and visually interesting, reports McClatchy Newspapers.
So go ahead: Add a piece of your grandmother’s blue china to your own white plates.
Peace, baby
Here’s something a little different for the upcoming holiday season: Pottery Barn is offering glittery peace sign tree ornaments.
Ornaments are priced $4 to $6. The store at Walden Galleria has a tree up that is completely decorated with them.
