The Romulus Charitable Foundation awarded four $500 scholarships recently at a dinner in Banchetti by Rizzo’s. The recipients are: Katelyn Butticci, Niagara County Community College; Angelo Sciandra, Fredonia State College; Tina Sparacino, Canisius College, and Zara Sparacino, Canisius College.

Seton Guild of Buffalo recently installed its newly elected officers at a luncheon in Westwood Country Club. Officers installed include: president, Celine Murray; vice president, Beth McMahon; secretary, Barbara Murphy; treasurer, Jan Jarmuz; and directors Dorothy Schaus, Mary Ellen Telford, Shirley Wilson and Dorothy Hausle.

The Greater Niagara Christian Women’s Connection will hold a monthly luncheon from 11:30 a. m. to 1 p. m. June 23 at Barton Hill Hotel& Spa, 100 Center St., Lewiston. Tickets for the event are $13 and include tax and gratuity. Guest speaker Linda Fanton will talk about “Empty Nest Reversal,” and attendees will break into small groups with different interersts. Buffalo Hadassah will visit Choco- Logo, a local chocolate factory located at 141 Broadway, at 5 p. m. June 25. Members will hear about the trends in chocolate, tour the facility and taste samples. A wine and chocolate pairing will follow. The cost is $12. For reservations, contact Norma Rubin by June 19. Program chairwomen are Nancy Greenberg, Maxine Seller and Rubin.

A joint meeting of the Abigail Fillmore, Katharine Pratt Horton and Niagara Falls William Mills chapters of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, will take place at 1:30 a. m. June 20 in Magruders restaurant, Depew. New York State Regent Gretta Archer will present a program on “DAR Schools.”

Friends of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra will have a farewell picnic for assistant conductor Robert Franz at 12:30 p. m. July 11 at Artpark, Lewiston. Lunch and a talk by Franz will precede an open rehearsal of the BPO’s performance of “Carmina Burana” with the BPO Chorus conducted by Franz, who is leaving to become music director of the Boise (Idaho) Philharmonic Orchestra.
