Zajac to direct retreat

St. Joseph Catholic Church, 46 Main St., Holland, will offer a spring retreat from 7 to 8:30 p. m. April 20 and 21. Retreat director is the Rev. Richard Zajac, chaplain at Sisters Hospital, and the theme is “End of Life.”

‘Walk for the World’ set

Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church’s “Walk for the World” will be held from 10 a. m. to noon on April 25 at the Clarence Soccer Center, Clarence Center and Kraus roads, Clarence.

The event, in its third year, supports a housing project in Buffalo and a mission effort in Mozambique.

Presbyterian gathering

The Presbyterian Women of Western New York will hold their spring gathering at 9:15 a. m. April 25 in Deerhurst Presbyterian Church, 257 Deerhurst Park Blvd., Town of Tonawanda, with a worship service followed by lunch.

Cost is $5. Call 836-2825 to register.

Christian ethics study program

A seven-week study program on Christian ethics will be offered beginning May 2 in Brighton Community Church, 1225 Brighton Road, Town of Tonawanda.

The weekly sessions, sponsored by the Laity for Leadership program of the Niagara Area Baptist Association, will run from 9 a. m. to noon and be led by the Rev. Bette Bond, pastor of United Baptist Christian Church in Lewiston. Call 675-3954 for details or to register.

Diocese promotes Goller

Kathryn M. Goller of Amherst has been named director of the department of youth and young adult ministry for the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo.

Goller is a graduate of Canisius College and holds a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from Christ the King Seminary. She has been associate director of the department since 2005.

Canisius chorale to perform

The Canisius College Chorale will kick off its 2009 Sacred Spaces concert series at 7:30 p. m. April 20 in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 64 Center St., North Tonawanda.
