The Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is giving up to $400 per family respite for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. The chapter will reimburse for respite in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, adult day care or through a home health care agency. To find out if you are eligible, call 626-0600 or (800) 272-3900. Respite services covered by the program must be used by Feb. 28.

A three-day diabetes management program, “Taking Charge of Your Diabetes,” will be offered at 6 p. m. today through Thursday in Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Center, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston. To register, call 298-2145.

The Arthritis Foundation will present a program of seated and standing exercises designed to improve flexibility, improve range of motion and maintain muscle strength. Classes will be held at 2 p. m. for eight consecutive Thursdays (starting this week) at Slim and Tone, 55 CrossPoint Parkway, Getzville. The cost is $32. A Community Lipid Panel Screening to check cholesterol levels in the blood will be offered from 6 to 11 a. m. Sunday in the North Lobby of Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston. “Making Minutes Count — Managing Risk Factors and Recognizing the Signs and Symptoms of Stroke” will be presented at 7 p. m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 100 Church St., Youngstown.
