Tips to get fit

Story tools:

You don’t have to have Gwyneth Paltrow’s genes — and fortune — to get and stay in shape. Here are some resources to help you get fit on a shoestring:

• Digital cable customers with Time Warner can access all types of free workouts with Exercise TV, an On Demand channel offering everything from Latin cardio workouts to yoga and pilates.

• The Family Video chain of movie rental stores and the public library lend workout DVDs free of charge. You can also stream thousands of free workouts online and on YouTube.com.

• Check with your health insurance company to find out if nutrition education, gym membership, fitness classes and other wellness resources are covered in your plan. — Samantha Maziarz Christmann
