Web design tips
Some things to keep in mind during the design process of your Web site:
• Your page should look good without being too slow to load.
• Be neat. Try not to be overcrowded with too many links.
• Avoid pop-ups. They’re annoying and drive people away.
• Do not put too much text in one big block. Make sure that there’s a fair amount of white space between paragraphs. This makes your text more readable.
• Remember to KISS (“Keep It Simple, Stupid”). Put the important information that you want to communicate in a prominent place on the page.
• Color is fine, but if readability is your priority, white background with black text works best.
• Make sure to view your site with a variety of resolutions as a page that looks fine on in 32-bit color resolution may not look so nice on lesser settings.
• Avoid too much unnecessary flashy content.
• Before finalizing the site, check twice for errors in spelling, punctuation and grammar.
