“Summer Heat,” a Miami South Beach-style fundraiser for Carly’s Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, will be held Friday at the Statler Towers. A VIP party starts at 5 p. m. with doors open to the public at 6 p. m. The event will feature silent and live auctions, basket raffles and food stations with signature dishes created by some of Buffalo’s best restaurants. Live music will be provided by Caribbean Extravaganza, Jeremy Hoyle and Strictly Hip.
Proceeds from the event, presented by the Aquamarine Group, will be used for pediatric cancer research and support programs for children with cancer.
South Beach chic or summer attire is recommended for the party. Cabanas can be sponsored with a group, or individual tickets are available for $125 per person or $200 per couple. For tickets, call 845-8788 or online at ww. CarlysClub.org.

Patricia Mullaney, owner of the the gourmet bakery Dessert Deli, will be the speaker at a luncheon of the Southtowns Christian Women’s Connection at 11:30 a. m. next Thursday in the Columns restaurant, Elma. Indian Senior Citizens Club of Western New York will have its third annual Founder’s Day dinner party Aug. 24 at the Palms Banquets at Tandoori’s, 7740 Transit Road, Amherst. A cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p. m., followed by a musical program at 6:30 and dinner at 8:30.
The club will honor senior-most couples and members.

West Seneca Women’s Club will have its 36th annual membership tea at 7:30 p. m. Sept. 8 in Ebenezer United Church of Christ. For information, call 992-9628. Any woman, age 18 or older who lives in the Southtowns, is welcome to attend. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month with a special program or speaker.
