High court backs Davis in campaign finance fight

WASHINGTON — In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court on Thursday backed congressional candidate Jack Davis’ suit to declare unconstitutional the so-called “millionaires amendment” in the bipartisan campaign finance law.

WASHINGTON — Seeking to reduce identity theft, Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N. Y., on Wednesday announced his support for bipartisan legislation that would require the Social Security Administration to reissue Medicare eligibility cards without Social Security numbers on them.
