The next time you fly to Miami, don’t be surprised if you see Buffalo’s biggest bank plastered all over the airport.

HSBC Holdings PLC announced has signed a five-year agreement to feature its brand prominently across the inside and outside of 102 jet bridges at Miami International Airport. That’s one of the world’s 30 busiest airports, with over 34 million travelers passing through each year.

The London-based bank’s “Points of Value” global advertising campaign will be on display inside the walkways that lead from the gates to the aircraft.

In particular, the campaign will highlight the bank’s HSBC Premier personal banking service, which is available to customers who hold at least $100,000 in deposits and investments at the bank, or $500,000 in deposits, investments and loans.

HSBC Bank USA, the company’s U. S. subsidiary, is the biggest bank in Buffalo, and has more than 380 offices throughout New York State. Additionally, it also operates branches in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Oregon, Washington, Maryland, Illinois, Connecticut, Virginia and the District of Columbia, for a total of 470 U. S. offices.

In Florida, where it launched its presence in 2000, it has 20 retail branches, a commercial banking office and a private banking office.

This is the latest addition to the bank’s unique airport branding program, which HSBC launched in 2001 at London’s Heathrow Airport. Today, HSBC’s jet bridge and other airport advertising can be seen at 41 airports in 17 countries, including New York, London, Athens, Tokyo, Sydney, Beijing and Shanghai.

In the United States, HSBC advertises at John F. Kennedy International Airport and La- Guardia International Airport in New York, and at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. In Canada, its ads can be found at Toronto Pearson International Airport and Vancouver International Airport.

Adding Miami means HSBC ads will now be seen by 150 million North American fliers annually.

“Miami International Airport is a crossroads for literally millions of people each year, particularly those travelling to and from Central and South America,” said Kevin Martin, executive vice president of personal financial services for HSBC Bank USA. “HSBC’s strong presence in these markets and growing network in Florida makes Miami a natural place to continue building awareness of our brand.”
